Description

A flexible OGD scopy (OesophagoGastroDuodenoscopy), often simply called a “gastroscopy” or “upper endoscopy,” is a diagnostic procedure used to examine the lining of the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It involves using a long, thin, flexible tube called an endoscope, which has a camera and light source at its tip, to visualize the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine (duodenum).
